Introduction

Updated

Strabber helps you understand how visitors use your website. It shows you what they do, where their attention goes, and why, with session recordings, heatmaps and surveys in one product.

What you can do with Strabber

Recordings

Recordings let you watch real visitor sessions: how users click, scroll, type and move between pages, and where they get stuck. Use them to find usability problems that traditional analytics can't show, reproduce bugs, and see what happened before a user reported an issue.

Each recording also captures console logs and JavaScript errors, so you can see technical problems alongside what the user was doing.

Heatmaps

Heatmaps show where visitors click, move their mouse and scroll on a page. They make it easy to see which parts of a page attract attention and which get ignored. Use them to improve page layouts, landing pages, forms and calls to action.

Strabber has three heatmap types, all included on every plan:

  • Click maps show where visitors click.
  • Move maps show where visitors move their mouse.
  • Scroll maps show how far down the page visitors scroll.

Surveys

Surveys let you ask visitors questions directly on your website, so you learn why they act the way they do. You can target a survey by page, behavior, events or custom conditions, and show it at the right moment: on page load, on exit intent, after time on page, on scroll, or on a custom event. You then review the responses in Strabber to find trends and decide what to improve.

Spectator and Interviewer

Strabber's features are grouped into two products:

  • Spectator covers recordings and heatmaps: it shows you what users do.
  • Interviewer covers surveys: it lets you ask users directly.

Your Strabber subscription gives you access to both. You only pay for what you use of each, so if you don't use Interviewer, it costs nothing. There's also a free plan with almost all features and no time limit.

How it works

  1. You add the Strabber tracking script to your website once.
  2. The script collects data about how visitors use your pages and sends it to Strabber.
  3. You open Strabber to watch recordings, view heatmaps and read survey responses.

The same script covers recordings, heatmaps and surveys, so you don't need a separate install for each. You can add as many websites to your account as you like.
